Changpeng Zhao is a Chinese-born Canadian Software Engineer who is now known as the CEO of Binance, the largest crypto exchange in the world. In the early years of his career, he worked for a subcontractor of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Being experienced in developing software for matching trade orders, CZ went on to develop Fusion Systems, a startup company. The company was praised as one of the fastest automated high-frequency trading platforms for stockbrokers.
CZ was also one of the members of the Blockchain.info team and even served as the CTO for OKCoin. He raised over $15 million for Binance in its Initial Coin Offering in July 2017. Binance became one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world in less than eight months after its launch. In the next year, Forbes placed CZ third on their list of “The Richest People in Cryptocurrency.”

Commodity Futures Trading Commission claimed that Binance CEO CZ violated US trading laws. It alleged that Binance helped its employees and customers in avoiding the laws to maximize profits.
